The Rev. Pat Lee will never forget the day in 1985 when a nurse urged him to scour his hands with bleach after anointing a man stricken by a mysterious virus . Later, when blood splattered his shoes at a parishioner's hospital bedside, he scrubbed his feet with bleach too.
